To which Transmission version to upgrade to get the magnet links working?

Summary:

My current transmission (1.76 (9395)) + transmission-remote-dotnet front end served me well for years but I have to use magnet links that simply do not work with it anymore. To which transmission would you suggest me do upgrade to that is stabil and works well?

Hi all,

It's been some years when I was here last time…

I need you help guys on a quick one.

My current transmission (1.76 (9395)) + transmission-remote-dotnet front-end has served me well for years but
I have to use magnet links today that simply do not work with it anymore.

To which transmission would you suggest me do upgrade to that is stabil and works well?

I can see the following versions:
1) on optware: 2.42-1
2) in transmission site: 2.50

I'm using Transmission 2.33 (build 12565) installed through optware.
This is not the newer one, but magnet links are supported.

Transmission 2.42 works very well with magnet links and it also has a blocklist. But you should know that all the Transmission versions above 1.90 do have problems with white light and blue rings in terms of crashing. The crashing seems to be because of too many peers. If you reduce the number of max peers, then you can use the more recent versions without problem.

OK, thanks for the help guys.

Any other issue that is know with Transmisson 2.42 (except number of peers)?

I read somewhere that I have to upgrade other installed libevent on (v. 1.44 to v2.x) and that can make problems…

please, can anyone help how to install transmission?
i installed transmission last night by following this instrucitons

mybookworld wikidot com/transmission

but, some of the instructions seems not working or
not applicable to the new version of transmission.

when i open transmission in the web browser, it's broken.
some of the .js & .css files cannot be found.

please help me.newbie here..
