I recently installed optware on my MBWE II (white light) Firmware 01.02.12 with MioNet **built on Thu Sep 29 11:06:30 CST 2011.
I also installed a gitosis server to have my repositories accessible inside my local network.
I logged in as root using ssh.
and istalled it using
ipkg install gitosis
This also installed a lot of dependencies.
I also installed sudo and git-manpages as suggested during installation.
After fiddling around I did not get it work, so I removed it using the command
ipkg remote gitsosis
I then removed all dependencies and also sudo and git-manpages manually.
A few days later I want to do some other stuff - primarily disabling root logins from the shell - and found that sudo is missing on my system.
Loggin in with the admin account and doing a simple
tail: /tmp/messages: Permission denied
If I then try
sudo tail /tmp/messages
-sh: sudo: not found
I don't know whether sudo was never available in my current MWBE II Installation (FW 01.02.12) or if I removed it totally from the system by removing the sudo package which has been installed by ipkg.
Does anybody know something about this issue?
I also installed sudo again using ipkg, but it seems that it gets installed only for the root account (which I am still using) and is not usable by other accounts, e.g. the admin account. Therefore I removed it again.
I am also confused, as other tutorials in this forum suggest using sudo on the MBWE, e.g. ssh-key-based-login-tutorial (but maybe they do not mean MBWE II).
Any ideas or help is gladly appreciated.
