does anyone know tell me a way to install a video surveillance software? (Foscam IP Camera)
i have a few of these cameras, but there really isn't any need to install them with your MyBook. The cameras are set up wired/wireless on your network attached to your router. The cameras can be viewed remotely if you set up a dynamicDNS service and forward the appropriate port on your router to the camera. If your camera does not have DyDNS auto-updates, then you might want to get your MyBook to do the updates for you (FeaturesPacks offers this service). The only other reason i can imagine for a relationship between the MyBook and the camera is if you want to upload the photos from the camera to the MyBook via ftp or other transport protocol. If this, then you have to set up a FTP server on your MyBook, and set up the FTP client on the camera to interact with the server. The settings are all in the camera GUI.

I'd like to use a software like "Blue Iris" to record video directly onto MBL 24h (with timestamp) without using the FTP server.
For example, the NAS Sinology and QNAP already have these functions.
For now, I created a simple script that records video directly from Foscam, although I'm not very satisfied.
I put this script at startup automatically every hour, so you have to split files every hour and deleting files older than a week.
