My 1yo daughter decided to spam on the pretty lights on the front of my MBWE II (blue rings) a few weeks ago and the next time I used it it claimed one of my drives was in "Raid Degraded Mode". I looked this up in the book and the "fix" seemed to be "here's how you replace the drive". It seemed suspicious, since really it seemed like a software issue caused by the rapid powercycling, so I had a friend delete the partitions for me ( I don't have a PC with SATA connections ) on the one drive that had allegedly failed.
I added the drive back in, brought up the MBWE and immediately the swirly rings of doom reappeared, only this time with it claiming the other drive was now "failed". Further, when I go to the drive management page in the web UI, it says I cannot format either drive, as it will only format *new* drives.
So somehow it's still recognizing that drive, even though it has had all of its partitions deleted??
Has anyone had experience with this before?
