I posted this on the official WD/MBL forums, but everyone there seems to be more hesitant to do major things like this in fear of bricking. So maybe there are some brave folks here ;)
I am trying to compile the SVN version of unison on my Mybook Live.
To do this it requires the ocaml tools. When I apt-get, I get dependency errors, does anyone have any idea how I could go about installing ocaml?
mybook:~# apt-get -f install ocaml Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been created or been moved out of Incoming. The following information may help to resolve the situation: The following packages have unmet dependencies: ocaml: Depends: ocaml-nox (= 3.10.2-3) but it is not going to be installed E: Broken packages mybook:~#
Since this wasn't working, I decided to try and build ocaml from source, now I get this error:
mybook:~/compile/ocaml# ./configure Configuring for a powerpc-unknown-linux-gnu ... gcc found Unable to compile the test program. Make sure the C compiler gcc -O is properly installed. mybook:~/compile/ocaml#
Any ideas/ help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
[ note: it has been done on the mybook world, but I am not able to post links, unfortunately. Do a search up top for "unison", if interested. ]
