Hi. So I've followed the instructions here and got SSH and NFS installed and working on the MBW. I've got some problems though when using my Apple MacBook as the NFS client:
I can't mount the NFS share using the command line:
MacBook:~ root# mount 192.168.1.25:/shares/internal/BACKUP/ /Volumes/Backup/
NFS Portmap: RPC: Program not registered
But I can get the share mounted using the Directory Service software in Leopard. When mounted I can access it and create/delete files from the command line, but not from finder. After a short while of copying to the device from the command line all I get is this error:
nfs server 192.168.1.25:/shares/internal/BACKUP/: lockd not responding
On the MBW lockd is still up:
[root@MyBook BACKUP]# ps -ef | grep lockd
root 9 5 0 10:10 ? 00:00:00 [kblockd/0]
root 890 1 0 10:11 ? 00:00:00 [lockd]
root 1126 855 0 11:00 pts/0 00:00:00 grep lockd
Does anyone have any ideas what could be the issue/issues that are preventing me using the NAS device as a backup solution!? I've tried for hours over the last couple of days and this is as far as I can get!
Any help is much appreciated.
