Really hope someone can assist getting data off of a WD My Book White light as these are all the photos and the backup drive i had died at the same time so this is my last hope for getting all my kids pictures back.
been going through many forums and multiple threads and finding a few things that give me a bit of info but nothing viable for my scenario.
Not totally on form with linux either which doesnt help…so only one thing left to do, speak to the peeps that know!
Had a WD MyBook white light 1 that became unresponsive and neither the power button nor reset buttons worked at all.
I am trying to mount the drive and extract the data off of it using ubuntu (12.04)
the closest i have come to gathering any decent information is from a part of gandalf_Ring's post here mybookworld.wikidot . com/forum/t-429004
sudo sfdisk -l
drive and all 4 partitions on the harddrive are listed and are identified as a linux raid autodiscovery.
So what i would like to know is:
How would i mount the 4 partition raid drive (guessing that they are all part of the same raid)
How to extract the data off the drive to be compatible/usable on a windows system.
thanks a mill for any help that can be provided
