Hi, total My Book World Edition (blue rings) noob here.
I've just bought a used 1tb MyBook World Edition (blue rings). The seller assured me Twonky is installed and needs a license as he transferred this to his new 2tb nas.
So, heres what happens.
It powers on and, eventually, identifies itself on my pc's (one xp pro sp3 the other win7 ultimate) as MyBookWorld computer in my workgroup. When I double-click this, it has one folder, Public. When I try to open this, I get a "windows cannot access \\mybookworld\public" error.
I logged in to the web interface and checked the permissions on the Public share. These were set to "none" for "everyone", so I changed this to "full", restarted the nas and my 2 pc's. And I still can't access Public.
I created a new share, Media, and gave it full permissions and I can access this, but the folder is only 2.5gb in size, which means I can't store dvd images, large mkv's etc. There is no way to change the size of this folder.
The seller also said I should be able to access the Twonky server on \\mybookworld:9000 to activate the license, which I've paid for already, but I also get an "unable to connect" error.
So basically all I want to do is this:
Access the Public share on my MyBookWorld, with the full available size of my hard drive available for storage, and access to Twonky to configure media streaming.
If anyone can help me achieve this, I would be very happy.
