I've been completely stuck on this ALL DAY. If anybody can, please give me a few pointers. They won't go un-appreciated.
When I purchased it, I didn't realize it could only be used via the ethernet port. I can no longer stand the speeds at which this drive operates over my wired network. Ive been trying to back up 300gigs of data for 2 days now and it still isn't done. :(
So, I decided I was gonna rip the drive out of the enclosure and just pop it into my PC (windows vista)and use it as a normal internal drive via the SATA port. Not quite that easy I guess. So far I've only managed to wipe it clean with WipeDrive5.
The strangest part is that I can see in the BIOS, I can see it in the device manager (sort of, it is listed under "other devices" instead of "disk drives". But, it is no where to be found under Disk Management.
I'm really stuck here. From what I've read on this page, the original disk OS is linux. Unfortunatley I know absolutley nothing about it. I'm afraid I bricked a perfectly good (although slow) drive.
Any ideas to get this thing properly recognized by windows? (if it is even possible)
