Thanks to this forum I managed quite some time ago to buy a MBWE2 of 2x1TB and upgrade it to 2x2TB without too much hassle.
Now, I am about to get my hands on a MBLD of 2x4TB and started wondering how to best move the data.
1 - I estimate that doing it via Ethernet (rsync) will take no less than 2 days: Pro, can access things while it replicates; Con, slow.
2 - I could find a desktop and copy from an old 2TB drive to a new 4TB drive over SATA and then let the raid resynch in the MBLD: Pro, 4hours in the desktop; Con, rebuild array in the MBLD.
3 - Crazy idea: remove one of the new 4TB rives from the MBLD and replace it with one of the old 2TB MBWE2 drives. Does anyone know if this would boot properly or would I need to somehow neuter the 2TB boot partitions?
Thanks for any ideas,
