clutch not working

Clutch says the transmission-daemon is not working....

I already chose the WDWB for my external storage. While I'm waiting for the disk I looked on the Internet to see if the thing was hackable.
To my surprise I found many threads about it.
I recommended this HD a few months ago to a friend for which I do some IT-support.
Being impatient I hacked his HD to see what things are possible (remote).

I was able to install SSH, IPKG, Transmission. the transmission watchdog, PHP, but somehow I couldn't get clutch to work.
I think it has something to do with the socket. One package expects it in this place and another somewhere else.

Is there a way to test the socket by hand?

you might want to wait until Transmission 1.30 & clutch 0.5 come out or install transmission from source code.

Do you know for a fact that these versions are bound to be released soon or is this mere speculation?
I excpect my harddisk tomorrow or monday and want to hack it immediately.

BTW… If you want to reverse all the hacking without losing the normal data is a firmware upgrade recommended?
Should I do a firmware upgrade to 2.00.1X immediately after unwrapping the harddisk?

well They are going to be released soon. You can upgrade the firmware if you don't bother losing gcc…

I don't want to lose GCC and NFS, but it seems I can get them back.
But these are the disadvantages….

What are my advantages…?

you get better mionet lol but yeah the upgrade isn't really necessary. WD haven't released any release notes..
