I have two 1.5Tb MBWE2's. I managed to brick one while trying to do a firmware upgrade (it failed, obviously)… Using the .tar.bz2 file made by christoff4444 (thanks HUGE!), I was able to restore SDA1, SDA3, SDB1, and SDB3. After following the HOWTO, I managed to get it up and running again. Fortunately the partition tables on my bricked MBWE2 were fine, so I didn't have to restore them.
However, It occurred to me that the partition table files included in that .tar.bz2 file are for the 2TB version, and if I were to try to restore them to the 1.5TB version I have, it wouldn't work, so my solution was to follow the same procedures he did to create my own.
I figure I can keep his images of sda1, sdb1, sda3, sdb3, and the tar.gz file for md4. Maybe even the mbr files would work too, but the sda_ptable and sdb_ptable files need to be created for my sized drives.
My question is how would I go about putting the sfdisk utility on the MBWE2 so I can create my own ptable files? It's not on there already. I tried to download it and run make, but getting tons of errors and won't install. Does anyone know where I can download a compiled version of this utility for the MBWE2?
