Recently my My Book World II appears to have died, I can ssh to it occasionally but I can't access any of the shared directories and most of the standard commands aren't recognised any more. I've pretty much given up on my ability to revive the My Book World. I took the drives out and plugged them into my computer and the drives look fine when I open them up using Gparted. I can see all the partitions. I had them in a RAID 0 configuration so I saw the two drives as a single 4 GB partition.
My question is, is there a way to recover the data from the drives, even though they were in RAID? I imagine, though I really don't know, that perhaps this would require me recreating the RAID, perhaps that can be done in software in Ubuntu? If it can't be done then at least I was able to salvage the two drives, but obviously it'd be nice if I was also able to save the data on those drives as well.
If there's any other information you guys need please let me know.
Thanks in advance for your help.
