This afternoon I was changing the router, which was still connected to the MyBook, and I was slowly moving the bookshelf to unplug everything from the wall, when the person who was with me decided I was too slow and pulled the bookshelf, causing everything that was plugged to fall to the floor, including the router and the MyBook.
The plastic box suffered minimum cosmetic damage, but I really fear for the hard disk, which is most probably wasted (the noises won't let me sleep tonight).
I wanted to log in to assess the damage, but it seems to be bricked, too.
What would you recommend? Should I forget about everything and just get a new network storage solution? Can I just replace the hard disk on the mybook for a standard one and format it? (if so, it could be cool to buy an even bigger one, since my 2 TB were almost full).
I don't know what to do, and I just assume that all those TB are already lost. And the truth is that it couldn't have happened in a worst moment (I'm having serious money problems lately).
