it worked fine for probably 2 years, we put things on it, a lot of things, we never used the default share files but anyone on the network could access them and we were happy campers. (campers dont usually have network attached storage or any network at all you see) until one day. it just didnt want to cooperate. Amidst playing in the fire, drinking beer and applying bug spray (pretty sure thats the summation of my camping experiences) you could still access the drive but only the default share files were visible. OHEMGEE - "whered all the memories we had packed away in this thing go?!?".. i know right - we were all freaking out. but dont worry. it gets worse. now, we can only see that the drive is detected. we cannot access any files (not even the default share folders), it is not detected by the mac pro on the network, it can be seen under "shared" on the macbooks when connected but after clicking "connect" it says "connection failed", and the PC the drives show up as three drives on the network (Public L:, Download X:, Public Z: and one folder whose icon looks to be connected to the 2nd level of super mario brothers 3 on NES - none of these four paths are usable and you just get an error when clicking on them.
A.) is my MBWE "bricked"?
B.) will i be able to recover all those files that we saved over the past 2 years?
C.) can i use the unbricking guide matt-01 has posted in this section - i cant post a link but maybe someone can reference it?
Thank you very much for anyone that can lend any assistance. i will be standing by.
