Hello,
I'm unable to solve my problem with the compiler
please, can some kind soul post the amule binaries?
Hi,
here you go :)
ed2k://|file|aMule-2.2.2-MyBook.tar.gz|4964114|23cf5f951f7e12345f179431e5ee9d6a|/
I compiled it on the MyBook, linking the libs statically…
configure was invoked with following options:
./configure --enable-amulecmd --enable-webserver --disable-monolithic --enable-amule-daemon --enable-alcc --disable-backtrace --disable-debug --enable-optimise --disable-shared --enable-static --disable-nls
If you're unable to download the file through *mule, feel free to pm me with your email. Then I can mail you the files…

edit2:
Alternative rapidshare link, thanks to damocles for the hint ;)
I have it running after downloading the rapidshare link.
Is it possible that uPnP is not working?
I have no time left to investigate, so I'm leaving it as it is for a while….
I would love to have it as an optware package though……
It already exists for my router…..
http://nslu2-linux.dyoung-mirror.net/feeds/optware/ddwrt/cross/stable/?C=M;O=D
You're right about uPNP, it's not working. You'll have to forward the ports manually.
edit - recompiling now with UPnP-support, it'll take a while though ;)
Hey… That's great!!
I hate to do things manually…. I'm in the automation business or not?
Have you read that post about Compiling optimalisation?
Well… anyhow…
How's amule doing for you? I'm quite lucky with transmission, but use eMule on my Windows machine from time to time for some more exclusive stuff….
I feel ablivalent towards UPnP - I like to know how "my" LAN is configured, i don't like to give away the responsability to a device ;)
Yes, I read about the compiling optimisations, but I'm still waiting for a reply from the original poster.
I use amule from time to time to download some music, it's pretty good once it's running (just using KAD, no server). Obviously the speed is not as fast as a torrent-client, but it does its task pretty well. I think that the web-interface is a major pita, but it's a lot better than nothing or a pure command line client.
Don't think your device needs uPnP to punch holes in your firewall…
At least you will see everything in your router…
No, the website isn't really that impressive.
I thought amule has been around for quite a while….
I do hope bzhou adds it optware…
OK, here's the new version, again on rapidshare
md5sum aMule-2.2.2-MyBook-20081007.tar.gz
5a04f86cc03ade4e5d45f869df9a9aad aMule-2.2.2-MyBook-20081007.tar.gz
amuled was configured with the following:
./configure --enable-amulecmd --enable-webserver --disable-monolithic --enable-amule-daemon --enable-alcc --disable-backtrace --disable-debug --enable-optimize --disable-shared --enable-static --disable-nls --enable-upnp --enable-ccache
UPnP might work now, although completely untested. wxBase has been updated to 2.8.9.
Feedback appreciated, especially on UPnP.

edit - removed rapidshare link, amuled not working.
Hi….
eMule crashes
# /opt/etc/init.d/S90amule start
Starting amuled: amuled: OnInit - starting timer

Current version is: aMuled 2.2.2 using v2.8.9

Aborted
I upgraded simply by just untar it to /
tar xvzf aMule-2.2.2-MyBook-20081007.tar.gz -C /
if I run the same command again, but then with your old one, it works again…
Am I forgetting something crucial here???
Here is a new version, I disabled all optimizations. It seems to work OK here.

Make sure to read the amule forums for the recent DOS attacks…
Thanks!
Can you please share your build tools plz?
Sorry - I've been offline some time. I'm using the gcc which was available in the original pre-2.00.xx-blue ring firmware. There used to be some posts on how to restore it… From there on, I compiled the missing dependencies. I'm *not* using any third party repositories. If you want to do the same, make sure to compile/install ccache - it will reduce the recompile time significantly - just compiling amuled will take > 24hrs.

Only three years after the initial release: aMule2.3.2
ed2k://|file|aMule2.3.2-MyBookWorld-v1-Blue.tar.gz|7372370|fe246d441f5a88460de201315ed4c628|/
To install: tar xzf aMule2.3.2-MyBookWorld-v1-Blue.tar.gz -C /
It will install the script/symlinks in /etc/init.d. Feel free to edit it for your needs (my amuled is running as the user www-data).
Update: aMule2.3.3
