/etc/mDNSResponderPosix shelfrestores after reboot

Summary:

I have a modified mDNSResponderPosix configuration file to announce the ssh, sftp, afp... and it works smoothly, but when the MBWE reboots it restores the configuration file to the original one (that only announces the webserver)

This is my problem:

I have modified the mDNSResponderPosix configuration file (/etc/mDNSResponderPosix) to include al the services I want the MBWE to announce, and it works great after restarting the service, but if I reboot the MBWE, the file goes back to the original one.

I wonder if any of you know how to avoid that or if it is another file the one I have to modify to avoid the change in the file at reboot.

My customized mDNSResponderPosix:

/etc/init.d/mDNS.sh restart

I was almost sure it would happen… I found the answer:

/etc/init.d/update_network_config.sh

This script prepares the system to use the current hostname and one of the steps is to rewrite the mDNSResponsePosix file. In a very ugly way BTW.

I have commented the lines and everything works as expected.

LOL, next time I'll offer myself 15 minutes more of time to find the solution :-D. Hope that at least this could help somebody.

Alternatively you could make a folder /etc/mDNSResponderPosix.d and create a file in it for each service. The update script will tack those onto the end of the config file before it is used.
