Ok, so i followed the help in my previous thread, and all is looking good.
I am trying to set up NFS, but i am missing something.
when i follow the NFS tutorial, how do i create the nfs.sh file?
Just edit a text file if you have optware you can install nano wich is simpler
if not you can try vi wich is very dificult for non linux people
Walking is difficult for a one-year old, but that doesn't mean it should not be tried….
It's NOT a good thing to immediately install nano just to edit a simple file.
The time taken to install nano could be spent to learn the basics of vi.
vi is on almost any linux system where nano is NOT.
On some systems you can't even install it.
ok, so i should edit a text file (whether its with VI or NANO).
(some time later)
vi really isn't that hard to use…
I've done some basic script editing in notepad on windows, its just a matter of inserting the right commands to add the lines in the right places…
(to be fair i googles for help … http://unixhelp.ed.ac.uk/vi/index.html)
all nfs scripts edited and running properly now.
(why didn't i think to edit an existing file myself - d'oh)
Serious, why is VI so difficult? seriously…

It's only a bit different…
I don't even know that much about it, but use it for every script I write.
If vi itself doesn't put you off it's the people that never even tried it.
Every body who use some energy on vi WILL learn it.. i my selves have never used nano, thats because vi works and why should i install moar programs when i got the thing i need?
thats nuff Off topic. :)
