anyone knows why XCOPY (from XP) instead to skip the re-writing on unchanged files, makes it anyway ?
With windows XP, you'd better use the robocopy.exe tool.
from the Microsoft Windows Ressource kit.
it will not replace unchanged files…, the /MIR option is very powerfull ( and dangerous) because it will mirror a folder :
if you delete a file on the source folder, it will also delete on the dest folder…
I use this tool as a planned task "When computer is unused" to backup my files to the Mybook…
I tried ROBOCOPY (GUI) but it doesn't work very well.
Does it matter if PC is NTFS and Mybook FAT32 ?
