I have 2 MBWE 1TB and I have followed the Rsync Tutorial but My config is a little different. I have the same share on each drive and a VPN between site A and B so it was a little easier. So my question is will Rsync really sync? what I mean, is I am at Site A and my coworker is at Site B. I noticed that if I add a file, depending on who syncs next, the new file may be deleted if I run the command
$RSYNC -avz -e "$SSH" —delete $RUSER@$RHOST:$RPATH $LPATH
So I removed the —deleted from both sides so that no files are deleted…
The sad realization is that my coworker didnt listen to my instructions to place things in the dir that they belong and copied tons of folders and files to the root of the share, which synced, and now they come back on each drive each time the drives sync.
I thought rsync was suppose to see my new file and not delete it when its pulling the files from the other site..
am i missing something?
My Goal was for each of us to share files, the sync happends every other hour , offset for each drive. I am almost there but I need a true sync, not just a copy and paste which rsync kind of seams to do.
